The Information School and Me

I plan to work with programming and databases to make information more accessible to everyone. As a lifelong teacher and learner, I continuing to explore both science and literature for knowledge and skills to share with others is exciting. To me, working as an information specialist no longer means simply working as a librarian, but instead extends to development of good designs and new technologies such as databases, search engines, and programming. The information school has helped me achieve this with specialized courses in Information Architecture, Metadata Analysis, Health Informatics, Scientific Informatics, and Business Management. Through these courses, I have extended my abilities in fields as diverse as concrete programming skills to cutting edge machine learning theories. My project lists below is but a short example of this. The difficulties of working metadata and taxonomy, both in theory and practice, have been made a little clearer to me now.
